Migration-related city networks: a global overview

چکیده
In recent years, one observes a surge in the number of city networks formed to address welcoming and integration immigrant populations. Drawing on database over sixty networks, paper provides global overview their different types, scales activities. Exploring underlying factors explaining this worldwide expansion, it highlights two sets congruent dynamics. This phenomenon has been elicited by longue durée devolution local authorities powers responsibilities pertaining management populations hand events 2015–2016 ‘migration crisis’ other. It is also outcome top-down influence international organisations (including European Union) bottom-up mobilisations municipalities facing growing contradictions between security-oriented migration management. concluding section, points challenges faced actors for building ‘glocal’ governance.
